OVERVIEW

Navaids department is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the following navigational aids facilities.

  • Instrument  Landing System(ILS)
  • Very High Frequency Omni directional Radio Range(VOR)
  • Distance Measuring Equipment(DME)
  • Non- Directional Beacon(NDB)
  • Locators.

PROJECTS

Recent projects include;

  • The procurement and supply of navigational aids at Enugu and Katsina airport. The project was started on the 4th of March 2005 and completed on 17th of August, 2011
  • The supply and installation of navigational aids at Gwazero, Gboko and Kishi en-route stations. The project started on 17th of November, 2009 and was completed October, 2011.

The process for the award of the procurement, installation and commissioning of ILS/DME and DVOR/DME for five (5) airports is ongoing.
